Tipton. Here is an original photo that I took in Tipton, Pennsylvania, on 11 April 1964. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #8624, two unidentified "EF" Class B-units, and engine #9788. #8624 is an AS-18M built by the American Locomotive Company in August of 1956 and rated at 1,800 horsepower. #9788 is an EF-15A built by EMD in February of 1951 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. They're pulling a 63-car westbound mixed-cargo freight train along with cabin car #477228. |
