Tipton. Here is an original photo that I took in Tipton, Pennsylvania, in the Summer of 1967. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #2251 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both were built by GM-EMD. #2251 is an EF-22 built in May of 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. In this context, they've just passed the Tipton grade crossing with a mixed-cargo freight train on its way from Enola to Altoona and points West. |
